My first experience with this garage was paying for some EGR valve work to fix 2 error codes. Drove car home, issue wasn't resolved, took the car back and they apologised as 1 of the error codes was still there, so it cost me more money to resolve the remaining code. Car then drove fine.Then had its MOT with this garage in March 2018. Failed on 9 areas, costing just over 800 for this garage to repair. One of the areas worked on was the handbrake. Driving the car home and I realised the handbrake wasn't holding well, it was rolling on hills even when fully on. A few days later on my way to work, I touched the brake pedal and the car made very loud clunking noises, which then persisted permanently when driving. Immediately handed it to the garage to repair both issues, they apologised as one of the parts they had replaced was faulty or the wrong part. They replaced the part free of charge and gave me back the car.I only drove it down the road and it was clear the footbrake wasn't effective, the car would judder to a stop with very poor stopping distances. The handbrake issue also hadn't been fixed.Went back to the garage again for repair, they said the issue was unrelated and therefore would cost me more money. They also charged me for further work on the handbrake.I then drove the car to Swansea on the day I collected it. More clunking noises whenever I came off the clutch, ended up needing to be recovered to Birmingham by RAC. The vehicle rolled off the recovery truck as the handbrake was still ineffective.I asked the garage to recover the vehicle from Birmingham to their garage in Leicester to be investigated and I made clear I would be unwilling to pay. The garage agreed to do this and told me the issue was with the gearbox which they said was unrelated and would cost me more to repair - however the garage did then fix the handbrake issue at last.Having spent far too much with this garage already, I said no to the further work on the gearbox (1.2k). The garage then told me I would be liable to pay the 110 recovery charge despite me making it very clear in written form, when asking for them to recover it, that I would not be paying it.When collecting the vehicle, the garage refused to give me the keys back until the recovery fee had been paid. I recited all of the above to the garage (including the fact that when the car was being collected for further work, I made it very clear that I advised against this, as the car was unsafe to drive and I feared it would damage other parts which it clearly has now done). The garage finally agreed to halve the fee to 55 which I paid to get the keys back.The above is entirely objective facts and you are free to make up your own mind on the garage. However from my perspective, on every single occasion that the garage undertook work on the car, the problems were never resolved first time despite being told the work was successful. The car ran absolutely fine until the MOT work in March 2018, from which point lots of other areas started failing over the next 2 months which the garage claim to be unrelated. Over the past 2 months I have spent around 1.5k with this garage.I'll not be using this garage again and I would not recommend them.
I've used this garage on at least 5 occasions now, always top service, friendly staff, and completely honest. Used on the 7/2/18 for rear brakes and discs and replacement shocks on my Santa fe, when I turned up to collect, they charged me less than quoted due to the labour taking less time than quoted. ,That's the second time this has happened with them. it's refreshing knowing you're not going to be ripped off! Highly recommend.
